Terms of Use

Last updated: 22 June 2026

These terms govern your use of Trove, a macOS application provided by NYRAI LLC (“NYRAI,” “we,” “us”). By downloading, installing, or using Trove, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Your files stay yours, on your Mac. Trove runs entirely on your device. It does not send your files or their contents to us or any third party. Nothing you index, search, or organize ever leaves your computer.

1. License

A one-time purchase grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use Trove on Macs you own or control. You may not resell, redistribute, sublicense, rent, or share your license key, nor reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to circumvent the app’s licensing.

2. Free trial & pricing

Trove offers a 14-day free trial with full functionality. When the trial ends, search remains free to use, while the Organize and Tidy (duplicate cleanup) features require a license. Trove is sold as a one-time purchase — there is no subscription. Major future versions may be offered as separate paid upgrades.

3. Payments and refunds

Purchases are processed by our payment provider, Gumroad. If Trove isn’t right for you, contact us at [email protected] within 14 days of purchase and we’ll arrange a refund. Your purchase is also subject to Gumroad’s terms.

4. Your files and your responsibility

Trove is built to be careful with your files:

Even so, you remain responsible for maintaining your own backups (for example, with Time Machine). You are responsible for your use of the app and for the files in the folders you choose to watch.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use Trove only for lawful purposes and only on files you have the right to access. You may not use Trove to violate any applicable law or the rights of others.

6. Privacy

Our handling of data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms. In short: Trove processes everything on your device and does not collect your personal data.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

Trove is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will meet your specific requirements.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, NYRAI LLC and its members shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, files, or profits, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) Trove — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to Trove shall not exceed the amount you paid for the app.

9. Updates and changes

We may release updates that add, change, or remove features. We may also update these terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date above reflects the current version, and continued use of Trove after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

10. Termination

These terms remain in effect while you use Trove. You may stop using Trove at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or terminate a license that is used in violation of these terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles.
